Patent Attorney Dr. Artis Kromanis has more than 14 years’ extensive work experience in patent prosecution matters. He is responsible for preparing and filing patent applications, drafting patent claims and descriptions, translations of patent specifications, executing searches on novelty and inventive step of inventions, validating patents according to Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), validating of granted European patent to European patent convention (EPC) member states, representing national and international companies in Latvian Patent Office (LPO) and World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), freedom-to-operate analysis and licensing of the patents. Dr. Artis Kromanis also performs evaluation of various IP objects.

• Consulted a Latvian civil engineering company in technology licencing to foreign companies;
• Advised a well-known Latvian mechanical engineering company in patent portfolio strategy;
• Represented one of the biggest Latvian company before the European patent office in opposition proceedings;
• Involved in auditing Latvian technological transfer centres in order to provide a feedback to the European institution of their progress
